West Kensington is primarily a residential area consisting largely of Victorian terraced houses, many of which are subdivided into flats, elegant mansion flats – for example Fitzgeorge and Fitzjames Avenues, Glyn Mansions, Argyll Mansions, Palace Mansions, Rugby Mansions and Welbeck Court and modern, gated developments such as Windsor Way, Oxford Gate, St Paul’s Court and Kensington West on Blythe Road.
Brook Green is also an attractive mix of family houses and conversion flats looking out onto green space, a children’s play area and tennis courts. There is also a friendly, cosy pub, the Queen’s Head, on Brook Green.
In the southern part of our area lies Barons Court with the world famous Queens Club and attractive residential streets. The Barons’s Court Theatre is located in the basement of The Curtains Up a friendly and bustling pub and restaurant located on Comeragh Road.
Exciting new developments are underway at Olympia where the building of a centre for cultural, creativity and entertainment activites is being undertaken to include a new theatre and hotel which will be an enormous boost to the local economy.
